What This Site Covers
DailyMaple focuses on the seasonal cycles of deciduous trees — from first bud-burst in early spring to the final leaf drop in late autumn. The content draws on publicly available phenological datasets, forestry reports and botanical observations specific to Poland's temperate mixed forests.
The site does not sell products or provide commercial services. It exists to aggregate and present factual information about tree phenology in an accessible format.
Scope of Coverage
Poland sits within the Central European temperate zone, where deciduous species such as common oak (Quercus robur), European beech (Fagus sylvatica), Norway maple (Acer platanoides), and silver birch (Betula pendula) form the dominant forest canopy. Seasonal transitions here are shaped by the continental–oceanic climate gradient that runs west to east across the country.
DailyMaple covers:
- Leaf phenology stages: bud-burst, full leaf, senescence onset, leaf fall
- Regional variation between Mazovia, Lesser Poland, Podlaskie and other voivodeships
- How temperature accumulation (growing degree days) correlates with leaf timing
- Methods for keeping personal phenological diaries
